Download the EchoLink program at https://www.echolink.org/download.htm
Start the program, fill in the data and wait for registration. Everything is done ONLINE and verification and logging in can take several minutes /I managed it in about 10 minutes/. You will find out if you are online on EchoLink when you receive a letter to 1,000 amateurs and transmitters from all over the world, with whom you can communicate via the Internet. In practice, this means that I can communicate with HAM PC+PC, or if HAM is within range of a transmitter connected to EchoLink (and there are not a few of them in the world), it can communicate with you, perhaps with a handheld in hand from the street 🙂
Naturally, you will need a sound card and a PC microphone for this at home. The communication is very clear and the voice intelligibility is stated as a report, it is usually 99% clear 🙂
Finally, something for conservatives: if it seems to you already over-modernized and you are going to find out if the connection is valid and if they send for QSO QSLL, I can't answer that... It's not a standard connection - of course, but it's also not natural when you drive to Košice from Bratislava by car. It would be natural to go on foot... :-))
Good luck de OM5MM
