The JUMA PA600 is the latest addition to the family of linear amplifiers from the Finnish team JUMA Radio (Juha Niinikoski, OH2NLT, and Matti Hohtola, OH7SV), the same authors behind the popular JUMA PA1000+ and the smaller JUMA PA100D. The device is designed with a clear goal – to deliver 600 W of power at a weight that is usually associated more with QRP techniques than with a full-fledged linear amplifier.
In the article you will read
Weight of JUMA PA600 as an ideal for DX expeditions
A key parameter that distinguishes the JUMA PA600 from other amplifiers in this power category is its weight of only 4 kg (8.8 lbs). Author Matti, OH7SV, when presenting the device at the JUMA Radio forum, chose the telling description 'one-finger lift' – a device that can be lifted with one finger. For comparison, the larger sibling PA1000+ with its kilowatt power weighs 5.5 kg, which already ranks among the lightest kilowatt amplifiers on the market.
This combination of low weight and 600 W power makes the PA600 an interesting choice for DX expeditions and field operation, where every kilogram of luggage weight in air travel represents a real limitation. An amplifier of this category allows the operator to increase power beyond the level of typical QRP transceivers without having to transport a heavy kilowatt setup, which is often logistically impractical for expeditions to remote islands or challenging locations.

Overview of features
JUMA PA600 nadväzuje na konštrukčnú filozofiu celej rodiny JUMA zosilňovačov – digitálne riadenie, robustný LDMOS RF power MOSFET and compact mechanical design. As with the related models PA100D and PA1000+, the PA600 is designed to be delivered in a fully assembled, tested, and calibrated state, ready for immediate use without the need to build from a kit.
The production and distribution of JUMA PA600 is provided by the Romanian company Rowaves Technologies based in Sibiu, which has long collaborated with the JUMA Radio team on a commercial license – Rowaves has previously made PA100D and PA1000+ available, while the hardware and firmware remain under the copyright of the original Finnish team JUMA Radio. A key advantage of this arrangement is that the customer receives a device designed by experienced transceiver and amplifier designers, but with professional manufacturing, testing, and customer support provided by a specializedmanufacturer.
Remote control: Windows, Android, and iOS

The JUMA PA amplifier family, including PA600, supports remote control via network (TCP) connection. The manufacturer provides separate manuals and applications for three platforms - a desktop application for Windows (installation is described in a separate Windows-remote-installation manual) and mobile applications for Android phones (JUMA-PA-Phone-Remote-Control-Application) as well as for iOS devices (JUMA-PA-iOS-Remote-Control-Application). This makes it possible to monitor and control the amplifier remotely within the local network, which is usefulespecially for remote stations or when the amplifier is placed out of the direct reach of the operator.
Similar remote control solution is also documented for the older model PA1000+, where a free Windows application is provided directly by the manufacturer and can work with additional devices such as JUMA COM Hub or JUMA IC-705 Bluetooth Gateway – since PA600 belongs to the same product family with a similar philosophy of digital control, it is likely that it uses an analogous principle of network communication, which we recommend verifying directly in the current documentation for the specific purchased item.
1 year warranty on MOSFET and 2 years on amplifier
The standard warranty policy that applies to the JUMA PA600 is the same as that applied by Rowaves Technologies to the entire family of JUMA amplifiers – a two-year warranty on manufacturing and material defects of the amplifier as a whole, while the critical component, namely the RF power MOSFET, has a shortened one-year warranty period. This structure corresponds to the warranty conditions documented for the PA1000+ model, where the warranty applies exclusively to the original purchaser, is non-transferable, and begins from the date of product shipment. Any attempt by the user to repair or modify the device during the warrantyvoids the warranty period, as well as damage caused by lightning, power surges in the network, or failure to follow the instructions provided in the user manual.

The JUMA PA600 continues the line established by the OH2NLT and OH7SV team with the PA1000+ model - to provide amateur radio operators with a full-featured linear amplifier without unnecessary weight burden. For operators planning DXpeditions, where every kilogram in luggage is valuable, the combination of 600 W output power and a 4-kilogram weight represents a real alternative to heavier and bulkier solutions. Current information on availability, price, and complete technical documentation is recommended to be verified directly at jumaradio.com/juma-pa600 or with distributor Rowaves.
