After shutting down our websites after midnight on March 24th (as probably the only possible response at the moment to the senseless attacks against their authors), the members of the OK2KKW radio club consulted and decided to support their relaunch. Only those of you who run similar websites, also updated more or less daily, can imagine the amount of work involved.

Why are the OK2KKW pages back to the public after a ten-day hiatus? Because by stopping them, we would only be helping to spread the unpleasant atmosphere of self-censorship, so pleasant to those who do not wish to be under public scrutiny. It goes without saying that this will once again provoke hateful reactions from those who hoped that our independent voice had been silenced once and for all. I wouldn't rule out even trying to organize some kind of petition that would try to publicly condemn our activities — public shaming for asking questions related to amateur radio operation and its organization. If the Czech radio amateur community is in a state where it considers it normal that the evaluator of the race, when asked to explain an erroneous evaluation, instead of explaining the error, marks these questions as annoying and even by manipulating public opinion, gains the support of a few hams, it is really sad. We were especially surprised by the behavior of some people, whom we believed until now to be people unencumbered by the Zvázarm spirit. Well, there's nothing left to do but remember it. Nevertheless, fortunately there are others among us — mentally mature, democratic and free-thinking people who do not share this hatred. And they would not deserve to stop the activity of this modest information source.
So we have nothing to be ashamed of. Although some of our opponents are still brimming with personal grudges, we have no negative attitude towards anyone personally. At most we can feel sorry for some of our opponents. It should be emphasized that we have nothing personal against OK1CDJ, OK2ZI or other persons. For amateur radio operation on VHF they have done a lot of work and for that they are undoubtedly to be thanked. We even have nothing against OK1DOZ, even though it was he who started this whole crisis in the OK VKV community with his completely inappropriate and unreasonable behavior. On the other hand, we still believe that it is wrong for the collection of race logs from VKV races in OK and OM (and indeed throughout Europe) to be administered by a member of a top competition team who is himself competing to win those races before being evaluated. Regardless of whether the information available in this way has been misused or not, we consider such a link to be socially unacceptable. If the administrator in question wanted, it would certainly be possible to ensure the collection of these logs in such a way that such inconveniences are completely excluded. It would certainly greatly benefit Hamspirit in both OK and OM.

Nevertheless, we have to apologize — above all to those who voted for the preservation of their operation, but also to other Czech, Slovak and many foreign radio amateurs, simply to all those who repeatedly visited these pages and suddenly their source of information dried up.
So the OK2KKW website is here again. We hope it's permanent. If I could no longer administer them in the future, I believe that in time there will be those who will be able to continue this work.
