Quadrantids are a meteor shower characterized by a strong but short maximum. The swarm will be active from January 1 to January 5, 2008 with a predicted maximum on the morning of January 4 at 6.40 UT. However, the peak time, which is only a few hours, can of course be shifted. Presumed ZHR is 120 (from 60 to 200). The swarm consists mainly of larger particles moving at a speed of 41.5 km/s. Thanks to this, in case of good weather, it will also be visually visible.
The most suitable times for connections in the NE-SW axes are 10 to 15 UT, E-W are not, NW-SE 23 to 05 UT, N-S 01 to 05 and 09 to 14 UT.
