Organizers of the traditional Meeting of radio amateurs, CB enthusiasts and supporters of PMR communication Rakovice have announced a significant change for 2026. The long-standing event, which many radio amateurs have associated with Rakovice, will this time take place at a new location - on Jankov vřšek in Strážovské vrchy. The meeting is being prepared by the Regional CB Radio Club Stredné Považie and, according to published information, the event will take place on Saturday, June 20, 2026.
The new location is located above the village of Uhrovec in the JN98ER locator and the organizers believe that the change will bring participants an even more pleasant environment for meetings, discussions and the traditional amateur radio exchange. Jankov vřšok is one of the well-known recreational areas of the region and offers enough space for individual meetings, presentations of equipment and informal conversations between operators.
Participants can arrive as early as Friday, June 19, 2026, provided they have their own accommodation. The event itself will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The organizers point out that vehicles will also be allowed into the area, and visitors will be guided according to the organizers' instructions.
The meeting will also include the traditional sale of amateur radio equipment and a technology exchange. Sellers should report to the entrance to the premises upon arrival, where they will receive further organizational information. The exchange will take place in a reserved area in front of the hotel.
Meetings of this type have a long tradition in the Slovak amateur radio community. In addition to the opportunity to purchase equipment or exchange experiences, they also represent an important social dimension of amateur radio. It is personal meetings that help strengthen the community, pass on experience to younger operators, and develop cooperation between clubs from different regions of Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
