Fifth round of the competition Short Listening Period contest (SLP), which took place over the weekend July 10-11, 2010, brought other interesting results and confirmed the stable performance of several long-term participants. The summer period is usually characterized by fluctuating conditions on the bands, but despite this, experienced listeners were able to achieve high point gains.

He became the unequivocal winner of the round Vladimir R3A-847, which with the result 64,400 points confirmed his excellent form and long-term dominance in this year's series. In previous rounds, Vladimir has already demonstrated technical maturity and precision in the processing of logs several times - combined with stable results, this has earned him a significant lead in the overall ranking, where he is currently leading with a profit 173,069 points.
He finished second in the July round Bill W1-7897 with 26,660 points. Bill is among the most active foreign participants in the SLP, and his consistent performances from the previous months (for example, 33,748 points in the third round or 36,312 in the second) keep him on overall second place with a respectable sum 110,033 points. His observations confirm that regular participation and experience in the conditions of different bands is the key to long-term success.

He won the third place in SLP5 Joseph OM3-0001, a traditional representative of Slovakia, who collected 24,708 points. This result helped him consolidate third place overall with the sum 77,407 points. For a long time, Jozef has been among the technically very precise participants, and his stable performances prove that even with a smaller number of active rounds, it is possible to maintain a high position.
They occupied the other sections Jan NL6828 (13,455 points), Ad NL9745 (3,498 points) a Johan NL9723 (2,720 points). The Dutch entrants confirmed their traditionally strong presence in the SLP, with Jan moving up the overall standings with his consistent results in each round.
After the fifth round, the order at the top is relatively stable - Vladimir R3A-847 has built a safe lead, Bill W1-7897 holds the second place and Jozef OM3-0001 confirms the stable performance of Slovak listeners. The following rounds will decide whether the ranking will be maintained, or whether other experienced participants will join the fight for the top spots.
