Results of the 8th stage of SLP 2012

The last weekend of October, 27–28 October 2012, belonged to the eighth traditional stage SWL SLP competition. This time too, a diverse international group of listeners participated in the events in the bands, who collected points for captured radio amateur connections during 24 hours. The October round was challenging not only due to the broadcasting conditions, but also due to the increased activity of the stations, which was finally reflected in the final scores.

The winner of the 8th stage was Jan Mandos – NL997, who scored 158,004 points with a significant lead. He managed to overtake Vladimir Ignatov R3A-847, who has been excellently placed for a long time, who this time took second place with a gain of 142,352 points. Jozef Marcincák – OM3-0001 finished third with a score of 53,640 points, thus consolidating his position among the most active SWL operators of the year.

The order in the middle part of the table was very tight. Fourth and fifth place were separated by less than a hundred points - NL6828 scored 25,066 points, followed closely by NL6904 with 24,976 points. ONL4638, NL9723, OK2-9329 and other participants who steadily support the competition throughout the year also performed well.

A total of eleven listeners participated in the 8th stage. Although for some it may have been a first or one-time participation, every contribution helps to keep SLP as a lively and active international competition.

Final results of SLP Competition 2012 - evaluation

The six best results from the eight stages are traditionally included in the overall rating. The 2012 winner was R3A-847 with a total of 399,873 points, confirming its exceptional consistency throughout the year. NL997 took second place with 378,620 points, and third place went to OM3-0001 with 153,342 points.
