Results of the SLP race after the 4th stage of 2004

Short Listening Period (SLP) contest, ktorý sa konal 8. a 9. mája 2004 ako štvrtá etapa ročníka 2004, priniesol pozoruhodné výsledky s medzinárodnou účasťou poslucháčov z troch kontinentov. Súťaž, organizovaná holandskou organizáciou VERON, pokračuje v tradícii preverenia schopností rádioamatérskych poslucháčov efektívne využívať krátke časové okná na príjem vzdialeného DX.

In the May stage, Slovakian student Jozef Marcincák (OM3-0001) dominated with an exceptional score of 6968 points, thus confirming his stable form in this demanding competition format. The second position was taken by the Tunisian listener Achraf Chaabane (3V4-002) with 6050 points, followed by the experienced Dutch operator Hans Lambregts (NL-7403) with 5546 points. Another interesting thing is the participation of another Tunisian listener Mohamed Kallel (3V4-001) in fourth place, which documents the growing interest in SLP competitions in North Africa.

The current overall standings after the four stages of the 2004 year show a balanced situation at the top. Jan Mandos (NL-997) leads with a cumulative 61741 points, closely followed by Jozef Marcincák (OM3-0001). Third Paul Lemeire (ONL-3058) is only 3355 points behind, which promises a dramatic battle for overall victory in the remaining stages.
