Sudan

Sudan is a vast country in northeastern Africa, crossed by the Nile River. With an area of more than 1.8 million km², it is the third largest country on the continent. The capital is Khartoum, located at the confluence of the Blue and White Niles. Sudan has a rich history - it was once the center of the ancient kingdom of Kush, which rivaled Egypt. The population consists mainly of Arabs and Africans of various ethnicities, with Arabic as the official language and Islam as the dominant religion.
The country has large reserves of oil and gold, but its development is hampered by long-term conflicts, political instability and humanitarian crises. In 2011, South Sudan separated from Sudan. Despite its difficulties, Sudan has a rich culture, traditional music, unique architecture and a strategic location that connects the Arab world with Africa.
