October is one of the richest months for radio amateur competitions and activities, while fans of all bands and operating modes will enjoy themselves. The season for prestigious "microwaves" starts already on the first weekend IARU Region I UHF/SHF Contestom, kde sa bude súťažiť na pásmach od 70 cm vyššie. Zároveň sa bude konať aj Oceania DX contest – SSB časť, ktorý každoročne priťahuje pozornosť lovcov DX spojení z celého sveta.

The middle of the month will bring two big events – the ARRL EME Competition, during which QRV will also be the well-known operator JW/SM2BYA from the Norwegian archipelago of Svalbard, and JARTS WW RTTY contest pre nadšencov digitálnych módov. V októbri nechýbajú ani tradičné súťaže ako RSGB 21/28 MHz contest, OM Activity contest, or various regional and national competitions at the KV and VHF bands.
Záver mesiaca bude patriť najväčšej jesennej udalosti – legendárnemu CQ WW DX SSB Contestu, ktorý každoročne prináša do éteru obrovské množstvo staníc z celého sveta. Október tak sľubuje množstvo príležitostí na súťažné vyžitie aj na získanie nových DXCC countries.
