The 10 meter band traditionally attracts radio amateurs and listeners (SWL) by its changeable nature, offering breathtaking openings and the possibility to establish a connection even to the most distant corners of the world. The year 2010 was no exception and the next in line 28 MHz SWL contest proved once again that despite the ongoing solar cycle, this band can deliver extraordinary voltage and excellent DX conditions. The competition was intended for shortwave listeners, whose task was to capture and record as many unique connections as possible on various DXCC entities and in different categories.

In the category CW gave a dominant performance Vladimir Ignatov (R3A-847), which you with the total score 1764 points and with the number of 18 DXCC entities won a well-deserved first place. He followed him Wolfgang Geller (DL-P01-1729), thereby confirming the strong representation of European listeners.
Category SSB yielded an even higher overall score, indicating excellent conditions in the 10-meter band for phonic operation. He became the absolute winner Bill Smith (W1-7897) from the USA with a score exceeding 2 6040 points, who confidently crossed the threshold of 25 DXCC entities. He placed himself right behind him Allen Willie (VO1-001-SWL), which promises an exciting battle in future years as well.
