TÚ SR – it is (really) like that in Slovakia

On March 18, I and six other students successfully passed the exams at the Technical University of the Slovak Republic. The next day, I was already sending a call sign assignment request. The TÚ SR is responsible for this action 30 days. Ak počítame dva dni na doručenie listu do BA a dva späť plus stolerujeme nejaké zdržanie vplyvom sviatkov, vychádza deň doručenia najneskôr na April 24. Dnes je 2.mája (8 dní po predpokladanom termíne) a koncesia nikde – a ostatní sú na tom rovnako…

In short – an ordinary person must comply with all the deadlines set by the authorities - apparently the authorities do not. Pamätám si, akú tortúru absolvoval Zdeno OK2ZW, keď chcel získať koncesiu v Ghane – 9G5ZW. In two weeks however, he won it. What lessons should be learned from this? That you can get a concession easier in Accra than in Bratislava... And we say we want to go to the European Union...
