VKV Operational Aktív is starting a new season

With the arrival of November, for Slovaks VHF the new season of the popular competition opens again for radio amateurs - VKV Prevádzkový aktív. Túto celoročnú súťaž organizuje Slovenský zväz rádioamatérov (SZR) s jasným cieľom: povzbudiť a zvýšiť aktivitu na veľmi krátkych vlnách. Súťaž nadväzuje na úspešné podobné aktivity v okolitých štátoch a je ideálnou príležitosťou na pravidelné stretnutia v éteri.

Základnou podmienkou účasti je, že only stations operating from the territory of the Slovak Republic will be evaluated. Súťaž je koncipovaná ako celoročná, pričom pozostáva z mesačných etáp. Každá etapa sa koná pravidelne tretiu nedeľu v mesiaci v čase od 08:00 do 11:00 UTC. Tento trojhodinový formát je ideálny na preverenie techniky a operátorských schopností bez potreby celodennej účasti.

Key rules for participants

It competes on a wide range of bands, from 144 MHz to 10 GHz, using CW (A1A) and FONE (J3E, R3E, F3E, G3E) modes. The competition categories are divided into "one operator / one band" and "multiple operators / one band". To ensure equal conditions, it applies to all categories maximálny povolený výkon 100 W.

During the stage, it is possible to work with each station once on each band. The competition code sold consists of RS(T), sequence number of the connection (from 001) and WW locator.

Scoring and year-round evaluation

The scoring system is designed to motivate working with variously distributed stations. Connecting within the locator's own large square (eg JN98) is worth 2 points. Connecting to adjacent squares is worth 3 points, and for each additional (more distant) square, 1 point more is added (4 points, 5 points, etc.).

The large squares of the locator with which the station established a connection are counted as multipliers. Importantly, the proper square is calculated as a multiplier automatically. The stage result is then the product of the points for the connections and the sum of the multipliers.

Year-round results are compiled by adding up all stage results for the period from November to October of the following year.

Reports

The diaries from the competition must be sent quickly - no later than the third day after the race, that is do stredy polnoci, cez webové rozhranie na stránke VHF .szr.sk.
