V nedeľu 11. septembra 2016 sa uskutočnila telegrafná časť hodinových pretekov Memoriál OTC SARA. Tento tradičný závod patrí k významným podujatiam slovenskej rádioamatérskej komunity, pričom je venovaný spomienke na zosnulých členov Old Timer Clubu Slovenského amatérskeho rádia (OTC SARA). The autumn part, which takes place in the form of a telegraph (CW) race, attracted many fans of telegraphy and sports competition on the bands this year as well.
Do tohto ročníka sa zapojilo približne 20 staníc, pričom diaries were sent by 16 contestants. Organizátori zaznamenali dobrú účasť a férovú súťažnú atmosféru. Podmienky šírenia signálu boli v tento deň priaznivé, čo umožnilo nadviazanie zaujímavých spojení. Pri vyhodnocovaní sa prihliadalo nielen na počet uskutočnených spojení a získaných bodov, ale aj na čas spojenia s klubovou stanicou OM9OT, ktorý bol rozhodujúci pri rovnosti bodov.
The results showed a balanced course of the race. They took the first two places with the same number of points OM8AQ a OK2NO, pričom o konečnom poradí rozhodol práve čas spojenia s klubovou stanicou. Na tretej a štvrtej priečke sa s malým odstupom ocitli OM3WZ a OM8CW, ktorí získali po 46 bodov. Nasledujúce priečky patrili prevažne členom OTC SARA, čo poukazuje na aktívne zapojenie tejto komunity do pretekov.
