The last weekend of January, 28-29 January 2017, sa uskutočnilo prvé kolo tradičnej série súťaží SLP Competition 2017. Tento úvodný pretek odštartoval novú sezónu a priniesol prvé body do celkového hodnotenia, ktoré sa bude postupne formovať počas nasledujúcich etáp. Súťaž je určená pre SWL operators, teda poslucháčov amatérskej rádiovej prevádzky, a pravidelne sa jej zúčastňujú nadšenci z rôznych krajín sveta.
He dominated the first round Sjuk Veenstra (NL6904), which he secured with an excellent performance first place with a profit 6420 points. on druhom mieste skončil Johan Heus (NL9723) Sat 5658 points, pričom obaja účastníci vytvorili výrazný náskok pred zvyškom štartového poľa. Tretie miesto obsadil Helmut Grund (DE2HUG), which he obtained 3300 points.
Representatives from Russia, Spain and the Czech Republic also reached the top ten. He was the best-placed home listener Vít Sirůčka (OK2-36449) on 10th place Sat 77 points.
