In a few seconds it was over... Arecibo was the largest single-camera radio telescope in the world, the diameter of its parabola reached 305 meters. The first observations were made in 1963. It was the largest in the world for almost 53 years. In 2016, it was overtaken by the Chinese radio telescope FAST. After the recent damage came the massive destruction that took away any hopes of its restoration. It resonated among radio amateurs EME operation of KP4AO, which made it possible to realize connections by reflection from the lunar surface with extremely simple equipment.
