The 3DA0GY brand belongs to LA9GY, Morten Antonsen from Norway, who plans to operate from Eswatini. On October 14, 2026, he announced that his suitcase with a vertical antenna and coaxial cable had not been loaded on a flight from Paris to Johannesburg. He arrived at the Piggs Peak hotel with only a KV radio. For those interested in connection, this is important: until this is clarified, we cannot talk about a stable signal on all bands.

Eswatini in numbers
Eswatini is a landlocked country in Africa that borders Mozambique and South Africa. It has been called that since 2018, before that it was Swaziland. Eswatini has about 17,364 km² and a population of about 1.3 to 1.37 million, making it the second smallest country in mainland Africa. The king is Mswati III. since 1986. The capital is Mbabane, the legislative Lobamba. The official languages are English and Swati, and the currency is Lilangeni. The time zone is UTC+1. It is warmest from October to March and coldest from June to August, with the rains lasting from November to March. October to November is therefore the beginning of the rains, which is a practical reference when building a vertical outside, not an indication from sources about the impact on operation.

3DA0GY v CQ WW DX Contest 2026
Competition CQ WW DX Contest 2026 sa koná v SSB 24. a 25. októbra a v CW 28. a 29. novembra, vždy od 00:00 UTC v sobotu do 23:59 UTC v nedeľu. Používa sa pásma 160, 80, 40, 20, 15 a 10 m. Výmena zahŕňa RS alebo RST and the CQ zone, which is the zone from which the station is broadcasting. The SSB weekend therefore falls within LA9GY's planned stay, while the CW weekend does not, as the trip ends on November 3 as planned.
We know from 2025 that Morten also worked from Piggs Peak, he used vertikál DX Commander s prijateľným PSV from 7 to 28 MHz and had a problem on 80 m. He obtained permission from the ESCCOM office. Piggs Peak is located in the Hhohho region. According to his figures, about 99.5% of connections were in CW, mainly on 10, 15, 20 and 40m bands, and he participated in a CQ competition WPX CW.
The trunk with the antenna is not just a technical detail: without the vertical and the cable, the 3DA0GY signal in the competition weekend will depend on an alternative solution that the site does not describe.
QSL 3DA0GY
QSL handled by Morten LA9GY himself. A UAE envelope is sent directly to the Norwegian address listed on his site. The site lists postage from Norway as , to EU countries as €3.35, so it asks for UAE. All connections from 2025 are uploaded to LoTW and the first directs have already been sent. Please include your brand, date, UTC time, band and connection mode in the request so that the manager can clearly find the connection in the log. The site does not mention QSL through the bureau or OQRS. For the 2026 connections, it is not yet clear when they will be uploaded to LoTW, so expect this after the end of the quest and check the current status on the site.
