Manu, CE3YMR, announced a planned DX expedition from Rapa Nui (Easter Island) with the call sign 3G0YM. The expedition is scheduled for June 20–27, 2026.
Rapa Nui is a remote Polynesian island in the southeastern Pacific Ocean, administratively part of Chile. From a DXCC perspective, it is a separate entity CE0Y. The island's location in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, with no major obstructions to most DX routes, creates good propagation conditions on several bands.

Expedition Intent 3G0YM
The originally announced activation covered the 6m, 10m, 20m and 40m bands in FT8 and SSB modes. After community feedback, the 30m (10 MHz) band was later officially added (June 1, 2026). Manu wrote about it:
"I'm very happy to officially announce that we will be adding the 30-meter band (10 MHz) to our Rapa Nui expedition. Many enthusiasts and lovers of this band have contacted me over the past few days, expressing their excitement and interest in working this band from Easter Island."
The transmitting location has been definitively confirmed. It is located near the ocean, which according to information creates favorable conditions for signal propagation. The area around the QTH allows the use of multiple antennas simultaneously.

Equipment used
Two transceivers have been confirmed for the expedition: ICOM IC-7300 and the Yaesu FT-891, both with 100 W output power. They will be operated in standard mode, allowing operation on different HF bands depending on propagation conditions.
A 3-element yagi antenna will be used for the 6m band. In general, 6m will be considered a bonus band due to its unpredictable propagation.
