T33 – Banaba: in March or April, there will be 15 world-famous operators from Banaba QRV for twelve days. There will be 5 stations in operation. The goal is to give Europe a chance to get T33 on all bands, especially the lower bands. The selection of antennas with an extremely low radiation angle developed by leading antenna experts is subordinate to this goal. They will work from 160 to 6 meters CW, SSB, RTTY, PSK and SSTV. The expedition team has to transport everything from Kiribati to Banaba by themselves – food, medicine, equipment and generators.
The brand T33C is ready. The hard-to-get permission to land on Banaba was obtained by the operators from the Council of Leaders. Banaba, an island with a size of only six square kilometers, unlike the other islands belonging to Kiribati, has a different history and a unique culture that has been preserved for many generations. In the 19th century, the island was interesting for shipping and phosphate mining. Page is in development. On it you will find not only information from the expedition, but also much from the rich history of Banaba. The QSL manager will be determined later.
