How to do amateur radio exams?

Na to, in order to be able to broadcast on amateur radio bands, you must first pass the tests successfully, organized by TÚ SR. According to experience and proven knowledge, the operators of amateur broadcasting stations are divided into four classes – A, B, C, D. Only Class D adepts do not take the telegraphy exam, they have the ability to transmit then in the bands from 144MHz to 276GHz with a power of 100W. “Céčkari” they are also allowed a maximum power of 100W, but they can also operate on four HF bands. “Béčkari” they are also allowed a maximum power of 300W and already all HF bands. “Áčkari”, highest class, are allowed a maximum power of 750W….

If you are interested in amateur radio broadcasting, so let's take a look at it, what is needed for it, to become a permit holder….
First and foremost, you need to have an idea, what the operation on amateur radio bands looks like, what options do the individual bands offer you (QSO with surrounding stations, DX-ing, contesting, non-traditional types of operation – eg satellite, EME, microwave connections for several hundred meters)… It certainly doesn't make sense to invest time, effort and money into something, which will stop entertaining you for a while.

But you may already be infected “bacillus ether” – and you can't live without a walkie-talkie. In that case, it's worth thinking about and choosing a class, which would suit you best. If you are not yet an active amateur radio, in that case, you can only consider classes D and C, the above can only be obtained after the required number of connections has been made.

He registers for the exams in writing, for example, this form as well A REQUEST. After filling in and sending, the period comes, when it is necessary to start preparing for regulatory examinations, operations and techniques. You can find more detailed areas of questions on the TÚ SR website http://www.teleoff.gov.sk along with answers to some questions. But I also recommend the book “Requirements for tests of the amateur radio station operator” from Ing. Jaroslav Kadlčák OK1BB and Ing. Miloš Prostecký OK1MP, which will help technically and operationally. In addition, it is possible to attend an amateur radio course.

You will receive an invitation two weeks before the exam begins. The exams are usually held in Bratislava, sometimes elsewhere (it depends on the number of applicants and organizers).

I will mention, that it will cost you at least SKK 500, rather, but 700, -Sk (if you manage them successfully and want to get a brand). Of course, those interested in exams outside Bratislava must also calculate the price of transport.
