Holick Cup 2020

Competition date: Traditionally, the last Saturday in April, from 06:00 to 08:00 CEST (04:00 - 06:00 UTC).

Band: 80 m, in segments:

• CW: 3520-3560 kHz
• SSB: 3600-3650 kHz and 3700-3770 kHz

Type of operation:

• CW: "TEST HP" prompt
• SSB: "CUP HOLINESS CHALLENGE" challenge

Categories

• CW – up to 100 W, CW only
• SSB – up to 100 W, only SSB
• MIXED – up to 100 W, CW and SSB
• QRP – up to 5 W, CW and SSB
• SWL – listeners, both CW and SSB
• NEWS – only for N license holders, up to 10 W, CW and SSB
• checklog – the diary is only for checking, it is not evaluated

Follow up QSO

• Connections OK/OL/OM between each other only.
• They can participate only individuals. Club station = only one operator.
• Each station can be completed during the race just once, duplicate QSOs are not counted.
• QSOs can also be made in non-competing mode - these connections are logged, but they do not count towards the score, are only for control.

Competition code

It is sold RS/RST + district emblem
Example: 599 LVC or 59 DDO
According to the division, district signs are valid until the end of 2001 (list on the competition website).

Points and multipliers

• 1 point for each valid QSO
• 1 multiplier for each unique district emblem

Total score = (number of points) × (number of unique multipliers)

Listener Rules (SWL)

For each correctly recorded QSO:

• 1 point for one correct station entry
• Complete QSO = 2 records, max. 2 points and 2 multipliers.

The log must contain: date, UTC time, call signs of both stations, sold RS/RST and multiplier.

Diaries

• It is preferred format Cabrillo (version 2.0 or 3.0).
• Upload via web: https://hp.nagano.cz – only in Cabrillo format.
• Email: hp(zav)ok1khl.com – enter the competition call sign in the subject, name the file e.g. ok1boa.cbr.
• By mail: Radioklub OK1KHL Holice, Bratří Čapků 871, 534 01 Holice.

A paper diary is possible, but not recommended. A scanned paper journal is still considered paper.

Deadline: 14 days after the end of the competition.

Evaluation

• QSOs with errors (wrong character, badly received code) sa they do not count.
• A station that does not send a log is only counted if they acknowledge it at least 3 other stations.
• Allowed time deviation: max. 5 minutes.
• In case of equality of points, the number of connections in the first 20 (or 40, 60) minutes decides.
• Prizes are awarded only in categories s at least 5 competitors.

Diploma, prizes and cups

• Diploma + result sheet for each station that requests them.
• Category winner: small "Holic Cup".
• The absolute winner: the great wanderer "Holic Cup" for 1 year.
• Financial prizes:
  • 1. place - 1500 CZK
  • 2. place – 1000 CZK
  • 3. place – 500 CZK

If one station wins 3 years in a row, gains the cup permanently.

Disqualification

Maybe for breaking the rules, unsportsmanlike behavior or a large number of unverifiable QSOs.
