July 2003 will once again bring radio amateurs a rich program of KV a VHF pretekov, ktoré ponúkajú množstvo príležitostí na zaujímavé spojenia, testovanie vybavenia a zdokonaľovanie prevádzkových zručností. Nasledujúci mesiac sa môžeme tešiť na klasické contesty, ako sú Poľný deň, IARU HF World Championship or IOTA contest, ale aj na množstvo menších regionálnych a tematických súťaží. Pretekári budú môcť využiť rôzne módy – od CW a SSB až po RTTY, and operate on bands from 160 meters to VHF.
Začiatočníci aj skúsení operátori si nájdu vhodnú aktivitu podľa svojich preferencií a možností, či už ide o krátke ranné spojenia, večerné aktivity, alebo celodenné medzinárodné contesty. Medzi očakávané udalosti patria napríklad Venezuelan Independence Day contest, DL DX RTTY contest, Original QRP contest, OM Activity contest or RSGB Low Power Field Day. The VHF bands were not forgotten either CQ WW VHF contest či S5 VHF-UHF Maratón.
When planning your participation, it is advisable to follow the exact start and end times of individual competitions according to UTC and choose the band and mode that best suits your options. It's not just power and antennas that matter - the strategy, timing and patience of the operator are also of great importance.
I wish all participants a lot of nice connections, a successful hunt for points and good results. With these races, July is once again a month of intense and interesting traffic that will delight every radio amateur, whether at home or in the field.
