The Perseids are among radio amateurs' most popular meteor showers. In addition to the excellent properties that predetermine their reflectivity (few small parts, high yield and speed of movement of the swarm particles), they are also popular with expeditions due to the favorable time of year. And there are a lot of them this year.
A relatively wide maximum has a predicted maximum for the second hour of the morning on the night of August 12-13, 2006, when the expected ZHR should be over 100. But the Perseids always knew how to pleasantly surprise.
Visual observations at the maximum will be quite difficult due to the Moon. The most suitable times for connections in the axes: NE - SW 07 - 12 UT, NW - SE 20 - 02 UT. In the E–W and N–S axes, the times are not significantly suitable.
