On July 27, 2026, SQ7BCE from Kielce launched a new project QRZ.pl – nekomerčný poľský rádioamatérsky callbook available at qrz.pl. The site is still under development at the time of publication, with the author actively collecting feedback from the community via the sp7pki.iq24.pl forum. The database contains 8,412 callsigns to date.
Purpose of the QRZ.pl callbook
QRZ.pl serves as a centralized database of Polish radio amateurs with call signs, contact details, station locations and locators. In addition to searching for calls, it provides a map of station locations, including repeaters and radio beacons. The project is non-commercial and is operated by a single author without advertising funding.
QRZ.pl features
Currently available features include a search in the callsign database with instant filtering from three characters, a map of stations with locators and the location of the converters, a video section (linking from YouTube) and a news channel with RSS output. Each registered operator can add their own entry in the callbook, including photos, and publish news for the community.
In the development plan, SQ7BCE listed the following features: an online log of connections with import and export in ADIF format, a technical section with antenna and equipment projects, visualization of connections on a map and search by operator's areas of interest. The community on the sp7pki.iq24.pl forum also suggests automatic migration of the log from QRZ.com, the possibility of searching by specialization (for example, 144 MHz, RTTY, TRX construction, DX expeditions) and a link to the hambasar at gielda.qrz.pl, which is closely related to the project.
