Tono, OM3LU sent us his contribution, which is a response to the survey that is currently underway on our portal. We'd love it if you all respond with your thoughts on this poll in the comments after Tón's post. Thank you.
Because on the portal CQ.sk several times negatively mentioned the Telecommunications Office of the Slovak Republic, issuing permits and assigning OM call signs to radio amateurs, I decided to respond as a radio amateur who knows what he's all about.
Allocation of call signs

Until 1989, only the OK3 prefix was available to the Licensing Office for OM stations, and this prefix included all stations except unserved ones. At the beginning of 1993, a discussion took place at TÚ SR SR, and then the Research Institute of Communications developed a regulation for the allocation of amateur radio call signs as well. Since 1993, all OM1-OM0 prefixes have been issued, they are regionally divided and one-, two- and three-letter suffixes are used for different groups of concessionaires. One-letter suffixes are intended for contest stations, two-letter suffixes for class A and B radio amateurs, three-letter suffixes for classes C, D and other stations. So for clubs, FM converters, PR nodes, BBS, beacons, etc. The only restriction given by the TÚ SR is that three-letter suffixes will be issued in whole blocks, i.e. first the AAA-AZZ block and after it is completely exhausted the next block, etc. Blocks are designated for classes C and D AAA-JZZ, čo je asi 6700 značiek na jeden prefix. Tieto skutočnosti boli zverejnené v Rádiožurnáli 1993. Pri porovnaní s inými európskymi krajinami je náš systém logický a našim rádioamatérom vyhovuje.
Issuing permits

According to my knowledge and also according to the feedback here on the portal, the issuing of permits by the TÚ SR is very fast and accurate. Ms. Ing. Kováčová also considers requests for selected brands. Finally, at meetings in the High Tatras, many OM radio amateurs expressed their satisfaction with the issuance of permits. And it's not just permissions, but the entire approach to the permission agenda. We really can't complain here, but we have to praise TÚ SR and Mrs. Ing. Kováčová to thank.
The whole problem of Mr. Vila Petrík Jr. he started when applying for a permit when he asked for the OM0WAO tag because his father has a permit OM3WAO (we went to school together, although not in the same grade). Mr. Petrík responded to the explanation that the regulation for issuing brands does not allow this by posting on the portal and writing a poll. Today he already has OM0AAO permission and can broadcast.
The fact that Mr. Petrík received permission a few days later was caused by the unplanned absence of Mr. Ing. Kováčová at work because her mother died. Just to clarify. In other respects, your reactions in the comments complement me.
Mr. Petrík's written survey question "Are you absolutely satisfied with the system by which call signs are assigned in OM?" she is unhappy and finds fault in unusual ways. Therefore, when you feel like it, answer the survey question as if the word "absolutely" was not there, because in this case it is just a fiction and is meant to support the offended ego. Sri.
