The final month of 2016 belonged to the traditional one 28 MHz SWL Contestu, which took place December 10-11 and was focused on the band 28 MHz . The competition was divided into two main categories – CW (telegraphy) a Phone. The goal was to catch as many valid connections as possible and get points for identifying different ones DXCC entity a states or provinces.
In the category CW only one participant stood at the start – Johan Heus (NL9723). Thanks 29 valid QSO and four different DXCC entities achieved a total score 116 points, making it the clear winner of this category.
Category Phone was more numerous and brought a balanced fight for first place. He performed the best Kees Schout (NL294), which he obtained 30 points per QSO and thanks to six DXCC entities, he reached the total score 180 points. He took second place Ad Hilders (NL9745) Sat 140 points, while the difference between the first two places was quite significant. He finished in third place Johan Heus (NL9723) Sat 92 points, followed by by Antonio Martinez M. (EA3248URE), which he obtained 45 points.
