V dňoch 29. – 30. októbra 2016 prebehla 8. etapa SLP Competition, ktorá uzavrela tohtoročný seriál súťaží pre rádioamatérskych poslucháčov (SWL). The competition is aimed at evaluating the ability to receive and record radio communications, with each participant receiving points based on the number and quality of communications captured.
V poslednej etape dominoval Sjuk Veenstra (NL6904) with a significant lead when he scored 28 951 bodov. Na druhom mieste skončil Kees Schout (NL294) so ziskom 10 220 bodov, tesne nasledovaný Dušanom Hanákom (OK2-9329) s 9 300 bodmi.
After counting the best results according to rule no. 9 became the winner of the year-long SLP Competition Sjuk Veenstra (NL6904) s celkovým súčtom 92 139 bodov, čím potvrdil svoju dominanciu v roku 2016.
