The OM3KUK radio club operates a pair of websites SDR receivers located at the Vršatec - Chmeľová location, in grid locator JN99BB, at an altitude of 925 m above sea level. The location on the ridge of Vršatské bradly in the White Carpathians provides a clear view of the surrounding terrain, which is positively reflected in the reception range on the VHF/UHF bands and the quality of reception on HF.

Prvý receiver – HAM pásma

Prvý SDR je označený ako receiver HAM pásiem a je dostupný na adrese ham-om3kuk.ddns.net. SDRPlay is used as the receiving device. For shortwave reception, a dipole antenna with a 2×10 m arm length is used, for the VHF/UHF part of the spectrum a dualband dipole antenna for the 144 and 430 MHz bands is used. This combination allows monitoring of operation on amateur HF bands also at 2 m and 70 cm, including operation with digital modes.
Second receiver – UNLIS bands
Second receiver, available at unlis-om3kuk.ddns.net, is marked on the website as SDR for UNLIS bands. It is intended primarily for receiving non-amateur (UNLIS) bands, for example PMR, LPD, leteckej alebo ďalšej rádiovej prevádzky.
Both receivers run on the platform OpenWebRX with a web interface that provides a waterfall spectrum display, selection of modulation type, channel width setting, and a list of currently connected listeners. Juraj, OM4AJK, is responsible for the technical management of the SDR.
Video from the location
A presentation of the radio club is available on the YouTube channel for the Vršatec - Chmeľová location, where OM3KUK receivers are installed.
A challenge for listeners
Both receivers are publicly available and their operation is financed by voluntary contributions. If you use OM3KUK SDR receivers to monitor the bands, test both websites, compare the reception on VHF/UHF and, if interested, support their further operation by donating to the above club account.
