Nedávno som začal hľadať výkonný staničný denník, na ktorom by som robil QSL agendu, štatistiky a mal zaznamenané všetky spojenia. Vyskúšal som množstvo DOS aj WIN logov, ale žiadny ma neoslovil. Za veľmi zaujímavý považujem Logger. Vyskúšal som tri verzie, v každej sa však vyskytovala rovnaká chyba v štatistike. Strohý YP Log napriek bezchybnej funkčnosti sa mi nepozdával z hľadiska grafického spracovania. Na WWC14135 som na otázku: „Aký log by ste mi odporučili na VHF?“ dostal viacero odpovedí typu: „VQLog is cooool (tip in case anyone didn't know, HI). So I rolled my eyes and started downloading the 12MB…. It's worth it though.

HW requirements for VQLog
VQLog 2.3b beží pod 32 bitovými Windows, čiže 95/98/NT/2000/ME alebo XP. The minimum configuration on which you can run it is a Pentium with 16 MB of RAM (the more, the better, it speeds up the program), VGA with a resolution of 640x480 pixels, a mouse, and approximately 10 MB of hard disk space (I ate almost twice as much). English, Spanish and Catalan environments are available (but don't ask me what the difference is between Catalan and Spanish).
Shareware
VQLog však nie je voľne šíriteľný program, ale 30-dňový shareware. This means that the program can be freely copied and used during this period. The shareware version is fully functional, it has only a few less important functions, which are only available after paying a registration fee of 15 EUR. Registered users have the advantage of technical support and free updates for a period of two years.
VQLog functions
Sila VQLog-u spočíva v absolútnej konfigurovateľnosti. This means that the fields for entering data can be chosen by the user himself, rather than being satisfied with the way the author programmed them. In addition, of course, the type of box can also be determined (for example, date entry), as well as checking whether they are zadávané údaje správne (napr.lokátor = dve písmená, dve čísla a dve písmená). Ak tomu tak nie je, VQ Log na to okamžite upozorní.
Výborné je aj ovládanie programu. Veľmi ma potešilo, že tlačidlá ako OK a podobne netreba hľadať s lupou. Medzi kolónkami sa dá presúvať klávesou TAB, kombinácia Shift+TAB vracia o kolónku späť. V pravej časti obrazovky sa dajú navoliť rôzne textové informácie. Dist./Bearing informuje o azimute a smerovaní via short path, long path ako aj smerovanie protistanice na nás. DXCC displays basic information about a given DXCC entity. QSOs displays a list of previous connections with a given station. Personal is personal data about this station - name, address, phone... Awards are diplomas. The analysis of links to diplomas is carried out according to the settings (automatic calculation option, e.g. IOTA).
DX cluster, QSL agenda
Samozrejmosťou je prijímanie a triedenie DX spotov z webclustra, DX clustra, Packet clustra. VQ Log ponúka aj ovládanie rotátora. Do vytrženia ma však priviedla QSL agenda. The printing of labels, addresses, as well as ready-made QSL cards is freely configurable - content, images, fonts, colors... Of course, the possibility of using multiple call cards is also possible.
VQLog statistics
Štatistiku som spomínal ako jednu zo základných vlastností, ktoré od logu vyžadujem. VQLog ponúka množstvo rôznych textových a grafických štatistík. The map showing the connections is a bit jagged. These data can be displayed on the screen, printed, saved in a text and HTML file, which is convenient for presentation on the Internet.
Searching the QRZ database, Buckmaster
Adress book si každý užívateľ vytvára sám, alebo môže využiť rôzne callbook-y šírené na CD (QRZ, Buckmaster). Súčasťou VQLog-u je však aj VHF databáza Guya DL8EBW from 1998, which contains a lot of miscellaneous station information (also OK and OM). Usually it is a brand, locator and band, sometimes also a name, less often a BBS, e-mail, device... However, for 5 USD/EUR it is possible to get the latest database by e-mail, if you also pay the postage, you will receive an update by mail.
Help
The help for the program is also very nicely processed. Even a complete beginner who speaks good English will understand the terms used such as VHF, EME, SSB… Žiadny z doteraz popísaných programov na tomto portáli nedostal známku výborný – až dosiaľ. VQ Log is cooooool!
