(These propositions are valid from January 1, 2009 for Zimný QRP race) – beta version
Winter QRP race at VHF is always held on the Sunday of the first full weekend in February. Competitors from all states can participate in it.

Competitive bands:
- 144 MHz 09:00–11:00 UTC
- 432 MHz 11:00–13:00 UTC
Types of operation: CW and fon according to the permit conditions, while it is necessary to follow the recommendations of the first region IARU for various types of operation in frequency sections of amateur radio bands.
Additional conditions:
- QTH any, there may be an electric current on the hill
- All station equipment must be placed on an area with a maximum diameter of 500 meters. The location of the station must not be changed during the race
- The use of a remote receiver or transmitter is not permitted
- Each station can only have one signal at a time; the signals needed to connect to the packet radio are not counted
- Several stations can broadcast from one station, according to the agreement between them
- The power of the final stage of the transmitter or the sum of the powers of the final stages can be a maximum of 10 W
- Power supply of all devices necessary for operation (TX/RX, rotator, bug, PC...) only from chemical sources; recharging during the race only from solar cells or mechanical sources powered by human power
- Antennas can be erected no earlier than the Friday before the race
- Connections EME, cross-band and via ground or space transmitters are not counted in the race
- Only one valid connection can be counted with each station on each band, where the complete competition code has been transmitted and confirmed to both stations. Repeated connections must be marked in the log (RPT, DUPE, etc.) with a point value of 0
- Používanie DX Clusteru, chatu, mobilu a pod. nie je obmedzené

Competition code consists of RS or RST, sequence number of the connection and WW-locator. The sequence number of the connection on each band must start with the number 001. The complete code, including the sequence number of the connection from 001, is also transmitted by non-competing stations that do not want to be evaluated. Three zeros - 000 - is not a valid sequence number and the connection will be marked as invalid by the evaluator. Stations that do not wish to be rated need not send a log.
Scoring: One point is counted for each kilometer of distance covered between the two stations. The point value of the connection in the competition diary must be given as a whole number. 1 point is counted for a connection in the same WW-locator. According to the recommendations of IARU Region I, a coefficient of 111.2 should be used for the conversion of degrees to kilometers, taking into account the curvature of the Earth. The WGS-84 system is used to determine the latitude and longitude of the competition site for calculating the locator. Connections with non-competing stations are also valid, which are required to sell the entire competition code, including the sequence number.
Evaluation: Each zone will be evaluated separately, as well as the whole race by the sum of points from both zones. The first three stations in each band and in the overall order will receive a diploma.
Competition diary can be sent to the evaluator electronically or in paper form.
- The electronic diary must be in the EDI format (REG1TEST), designated as the standard format for the evaluation of plants within the I. Region of the IARU. The diary in another format will not be accepted and the station will not be evaluated in the race.
- As a paper logbook, a legible photocopy of the station logbook with marked connection points is sufficient.
- A legibly scanned paper journal with marked points can also be sent.
- The diary from the race must be sent to the evaluator's address no later than the tenth day after the end of the race.
The connection is invalid, if the station in the diary:
- Contains any error in the received code (tag, report, connection sequence number or locator)
- It has a connection time difference greater than 10 minutes from the correct UTC time
The station will not be evaluated in the race:
- For non-compliance with competition or permit conditions
- For more than 10% of incorrectly calculated distances
- For false or erroneous data in the competition diary
- For unsportsmanlike behavior in the race
Log submission:
- Electronically to: ok1dom@seznam.cz
- By mail to the address: Miroslav Bečev, Neustupného 1831, 155 00 Prague 5
