6/2m expedition – April 2004

7Q – Malawi: is also not very well known. This former British colony is among the poorest countries in the world. Currently, more than ten million inhabitants survive only thanks to the support of foreign foundations. Even so, their average lifespan reaches only 46 years. Mark G4AXX, Dick GU4CHY, Steve G4JVG and Rich M5RIC will not only be broadcasting from Malawi, but they will try to do their bit to help the Malawian healthcare system. If you can, help too. Details are on http://www.malawi.digital-crocus.com. As for broadcasting, from April 18th to May 1st they will work on a so far unknown brand from 80 po 10m CW, SSB, RTTY and PSK with three stations complete with terminal stages and directional antennas. Activity at 6m is also expected. QSL via G3LQP direct (Roger Brown, 262 Fir Tree Road, Epsom, KT17 3NL, ENGLAND) or via bureau.
3B9 – Rodriguez island: six kilometers east of the capital of Mauritius, Port Louis, lies a small volcanic island in the Indian Ocean, which administratively falls under this republic – Rodrigues Island. Expedition 3B9C is already winning on various bands, however, thanks to Dave W2RR and G0MRF, QRV will also be on for three days from March 31st 70 cm CW a JT65. On the CW, they will air in the standard 2.5-minute time slot on 432,050 MHz (RX 432,060 MHz skeds, 432,055 MHz random), on JT65 in the first period simplex on 432,050 MHz. Possible windows are March 31 between 13,30 a 21 UTC, 1.April between 12 a 22 UTC and finally April 2 between 12,30 a 23,00 UTC.
Sked with 3B9C can be arranged at deserving@3b9c.com . Enter the desired date, 30-minute period and mode. There are 4 in the equipment×19 el.yagi, so prefer JT65 over CW. Our QRA is MH10. Since we will not be able to detect doppler shift during random QSO, it's up to you, to get your signal into our receiving window. Good luck!
