ZD8 – Ascension: Ian G8WVW and his family will be on Ascension Island until March 2006. He can broadcast from 80 to 6m (except 30m) on the assigned ZD8I tag. In May, he expects a shipment with the IC-2KL final stage and OB9-5E antennas on KV and a 6-element Tonna antenna on 6m. Look for it on 3737, 7077, 14237, 18137, 21337, 24937 and 28537 kHz. It is also possible that Ian will get on in the second half of May Falklands (VP8), from where, however, it will probably transmit to the FT-817 with a dipole. QSL the manager is G4LTI.
EM1HO – Antarctica: Paul UX2HO will QRV again as EM1HO from Antarctic Base Vernadsky on Galindez Island (AN-006). The expected length of stay is one year. It will broadcast on all bands from 160 to 6m in all modes. PA and 3-4 elements will be available on 6m yagi. QSL via I2PJA, directly and through the bureau.
F0/M – Marquesas: Hiro and Ari will be active from the island of Hiva Oa (OC-027) from April 28th to May 2nd as F0/JI1JKW and F0/JI1WTF. The plan includes all bands from 160 to 6m, on which the beacon will be activated at the frequency of 50110 kHz. QSL to home brands, directly and through the bureau.
HB0 - Liechtenstein: Gerry IZ1DSH, Giovanni IK1WEG and Riccardo IW1FWI will be working from Gaflei on the 80-6m bands on 1st and 2nd May probably on HB0/proprietary brands. QSL to home brands.
6 m Marathon: is an open competition for all 6m operators. Their job is to make connections with as many as possible DXCC entity for 6m in the period from May 8 (00:00 UT) to August 8 (24:00 UT). KP13: team OH8K (OH9O) is planning a short visit to square KP13 in May. QRV will be FSK on 144.355 MHz, HSCW on request. Equipment: 144MHz – 2x16ele and 50MHz – 5ele, 2x IC-7400, 2x IBM 600MHz laptops, 3cx800a7 is being sought for PA at 2m, 0.35dB NF preamplifier and 4.8kW diesel generator.
ZA – Albania: after long preparations it finally appears on VHF the most desirable country, Albania. Juergen ZA/PE1LWT and Chris ZA/PA2CHR will be working from square JN91 near Durres from May 22nd to June 4th. They will definitely be on 2m SSB, CW, FSK and JT65 with portable equipment consisting of two twin yagi antennas and two PAs with a power of around 1kW. If possible, the activity will not only be limited to 2m, but also 6m and 70cm. At the MS a EME they always broadcast in the first period. Schedules can only be agreed after arrival at QTH.
