Elecraft is preparing a novelty,
CAT500. It is an automatic antenna tuner for KV+6m. For
PSV<3 will be able to transmit 1200-1500 W, for PSV<10 it will be 500-600W. On the front panel there are PSV LED indicators and a switch for three antennas. KAT500 can work with any KV equipment, not only Elecraft products. The dimensions are adapted to their devices, the width and depth correspond to K3 and KPA500, the height will be approx. 40mm.
The KTA500 is now undergoing final testing and firmware corrections. The official presentation will be at the Dayton radio amateur meeting in May or earlier.
Write in August 2020 about that Elecraft is preparing a new product – the KAT500 tuner is at least incorrect. Write about that "KAT500 is now undergoing final testing and firmware corrections" is the continuation of writing Aesop's fables. I bought the KAT500 back in 2013 and have been using it together with the KPA500 since then. Production of the K3 and K3S has been discontinued, but the KAT500 and KPA500 are still in production and can be purchased. There are no plans to stop their production yet.
Otherwise KAT500 is the best tuner, which I got my hands on and can tune absolutely incredible impedances. Its firmware has undergone complex development and a number of changes, today it can even "predict" what the impedance will be at a frequency to which it has not yet been tuned (does de facto the same thing as Smith's diagram). I think that this tuner will hardly find a competitor.
I would ask for the publication of true and verified (verifiable) information, nonsense will definitely devalue this website.
Hi Martin, all older articles have this date. It is the date of migration to the new system. Newer articles have a real date. But TNX for the reminder!
