This meteor shower is one of the most interesting showers from a radio amateur point of view. Swarm activity is lower compared to stronger swarms, but station activity is higher. Expeditions and World Championship races contribute to this. What should we prepare for?

The swarm will be active from December 7 to 17, 2010, with a predicted maximum around noon on December 14 (11UT). The predicted ZHR is 120. The swarm consists of a number of small parts flying through the atmosphere at a speed of 35 km/s. However, in the width of the maximum, the forecasts differ greatly, from a few to tens of hours.
If the cloudy sky is not against it, it will be possible to observe the Geminids with the naked eye, and the most suitable will be the night from December 13 to 14. The moon sets shortly after 0:00 CET and observation will be possible until 6:30 CET.
