GRITTY – freeware RTTY dekodér
Alex VE3NEA has been known for many years for programs for amateur radio. In addition to the well-known DX Atlas, CW Skimmer, Ham CAP or Rocky (SDR), there are many others in his portfolio. One is a freeware RTTY decoder, GRITTY.
This program was developed for RTTY Skimmer Server, but unlike it decodes stations in range 3 kHz fed to the audio input of the sound card. This is what its use in operation looks like:
An interesting feature is the decoding of weak characters. Tam, where the algorithm evaluates the signal as unreliable, the character is displayed in light color. This is not evaluated based on signal strength, but assuming an error. For example, an experienced operator can evaluate this in his head, but the software does it more accurately bit by bit using a Bayesian formula. If GRITTY catches the mark correctly, appears in the tag box. More about that, what is the advantage of this program on GRITTY demo site.
GRITTY also includes an API interface, which allows it to be linked to other programs. Download is possible from the site http://www.dxatlas.com/Gritty/
