PRESENTATION OF AMATEUR RADIO ACTIVITY AND ARES AT THE COMPETITION OF VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENTS IN MALCOV, BARDEJOV DISTRICT.
On Saturday On July 8, 2017, the Regional Competition of Voluntary Fire Brigades (DHZ) will be held in the village of Malcov in the district of Bardejov, at which the leading representatives of DPO SR (Volunteer Požiarna Ochrana SR) and HaZZ SR (Fire and Rescue Corps) for the Prešov Region will be present. One of the members of the local organizing team of this competition is Ivan OM0AD, a resident of Malcov, so we want to use this opportunity to present the amateur radio activities and services of ARES to the participants of this competition, the officials of the DPO SR and HaZZ, as well as to other viewers present who show interest.

At this event, which will be held at the local football field, we will have installed portable broadcasting workplaces for HF and VHF/VHF as well as a small exhibition of various broadcasting equipment (radios, antennas, mobile converter, etc.). In order for our presentation to be lively and attract attention, we want to establish connections with other radio amateurs from all over Slovakia within it - of course within the scope of the possibility of spreading radio waves. Therefore, we will need someone from Slovakian radio amateurs to respond to our call on the bands.
We would therefore like to ask all radio amateurs who have the time and desire to dedicate themselves to supporting this activity a little, to watch the operation on the following bands on Saturday, July 8, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. to approximately 3:00 p.m.:

KV band
80m – 3760 kHz +/- QRM (ARES frequency)
40m – 7110 kHz +/- QRM (ARES frequency)
VHF /UKV band
Operation on the transmitter OM0OVR (Kráľova hoľa) and (limited) also OM0OUS (Stará Ľubovňa)

The "R-ko" converter is the only OM converter that we can get to from the venue of the event reliably and with the required quality of transmission even with simpler ones (4 elements) yagi antennas. In order to connect to the "East Slovakian" transmitter OM0OVT, we would need to install a multi-element YAGI on a high mast on the field, which is not suitable under the given conditions of the DHZ event - competition. The connection with OM0OUS is "on the edge" of usability.
Since there is not exactly the strongest traffic on the radio amateur bands on Saturday morning or around noon, we warn you about this event in advance so that at least some partners can be found for the connection. The time span is relatively wide, because we cannot determine exactly when there will be the greatest interest in our presentations, which are only a secondary program of the day. We do not promise either casual or special brands QSL tickets, but we still hope that there will be some radio amateurs who will support us in this way, for which I thank them in advance.
