Radio probe with SSTV beacon
Radio club OM3KSI in cooperation with the Slovak Organization for Space Activities is preparing for Saturday 15. may 2021 about o 8 at the morning of our time. Launch of a stratospheric balloon from Malé Bielice Airport near Partizánske. The balloon will carry several experiments and will be a part of it as well SSTV lighthouse in the zone 144 MHz. Stratospheric balloon will be launched on the occasion of the anniversary of the launch of the first cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin in space. On 12. April this year has passed exactly 60 years since this historic moment.
The following transmitters are located on the balloon:
Telemetry transmitter
The telemetry transmitter transmits basic data such as GPS coordinates, height.
Type: RS-41 radio probe
Frequency: 434.650 MHz
Performance: 10 mW
Mode: RTTY 50bd 7N1
SSTV beacon OM0MVX
OM0MVX beacon transmitter will broadcast images on the anniversary of Juraj Gagarin during the SSTV flight.
Type: Dorji DRA818V
Frequency: 144.500 MHz
Performance: 1 W
Mode: SSTV PD120
Experimental LoRa transmitter
The experimental LoRa transmitter will transmit in the band 868 MHz basic telemetry data such as location, height, temperature and pressure. The 9DOF sensor provides information about the orientation and accelerations of the radio probe.
We recommend using DL-FLDIGI software to decode the telemetry data regarding the position of the radio probe. More details at https://om3ksi.sk/2021/05/07/vypustenie-radiosondy-s-majakom-sstv/
