Indefatigable promoter of satellite traffic, Howard G6LVB, is going to Spitsbergen, JW - 78.15°N, 16.02°E at the end of August (around the 26th). Due to the location of these islands, it will have a range from Japan to Canada.
QRV will be on AO-51, SO-50, AO-27, PO-28 (if possible) and if there is room for SSB equipment also on FO-29, VO-52 and probably AO-7. However, it will not work via the ISS. It also omits KV.
Svalbard
Svalbard is an archipelago in the North Atlantic and the Arctic Ocean that belongs to Norway. The largest island, Svalbard, is known for its dramatic landscape of high mountains, deep fjords and vast glaciers. The area is home to polar bears, reindeer, seals and many seabirds, making it a unique nature reserve. The capital, Longyearbyen, is the northernmost permanently inhabited city in the world and functions as a research and tourism center. During the summer there is a polar day, and in winter it is a polar night. Svalbard is important for climate research and environmental protection, while tourism is regulated to minimize the impact on nature. Many visitors come here for hiking, skiing, fjord cruises and wildlife viewing in one of the most extreme yet fascinating areas of the world.
