Ramsey Island (IOTA EU-124) and hamradio
Ramsey Island, belonging to the United Kingdom, is part of the Aran Islands archipelago and is included in the IOTA program under the code EU-124. Although this island is relatively small and less well-known, it has considerable attractiveness for radio amateurs. Its isolated location makes it a valuable target for IOTA expeditions and QSL hunters.
Ham radio activity on Ramsey is usually associated with short-term expeditions. Due to limited permanent residents, the island is not a place with regular amateur operation, which increases its attractiveness for DX stations and collectors of new IOTA contacts. Expeditions focus mainly on KV bands, where long-distance connections are possible, including transatlantic ones.
