Interference protection
What is interference, how to proceed correctly in case of interference and contacts to the workplaces of TÚ SR. Interference protection (§ 68 Act no. 610/2003 Z.z. about electronic
communications)
(1) Networks and devices are set up and operated as such, to prevent harmful interference.
(2) Electromagnetic interference arising during the operation of electrical and electronic devices, which contain electrical or electronic components, must not exceed the level, above which the devices cannot work in accordance with their purpose.
(3) The devices must be constructed so, so that they have adequate inherent resistance to electromagnetic interference, which will allow them to be in operation in accordance with their purpose.
(4) If harmful interference or interference occurs, which prevents the operation of the device in accordance with its purpose, enterprise or device user, which causes interference, is obliged to immediately take effective protective measures or terminate the operation of the equipment. If this is not possible or if it is more economical or more efficient to take protective measures on the disturbed equipment, their business will do. The costs of removing interference are paid by the company or the user, whose device is causing the interference.
(5) Impossibility of operation caused by electromagnetic shielding or reflections of electromagnetic waves from buildings is also considered interference, which were made after the line was commissioned.
How to proceed correctly in case of radio or television interference
In case of interference with radio or television reception, citizens can contact the Telecommunications Office of the Slovak Republic (YOU MR), which will detect the source of interference and, if necessary, instruct the operator of the interfering device to take such action, to avoid further interference. Citizens can contact the offices of the office in all regional cities. TÚ SR recommends, in case of interference with income, e.g. MMDS or programs, provided by service providers “cable TV”, so that citizens turn primarily to the service provider (MMDS operator or “cable” operator).
Before that, how citizens contact the office, they should try to minimize the possibility of failure in their own equipment. In case, that instead of interference, the reason for low-quality reception will be a malfunction of the citizen's own equipment, the office's investigation will be an unnecessary waste of state funds. In addition, TÚ SR is not authorized to repair malfunctions of equipment, therefore, the citizen will still have to contact the relevant repairman.
Disturbance is best reported by phone. When reporting interference, it is necessary to state in particular:
1. Who submits the report on interrupted income (less, surname, Address, telephone contact)
2. What frequency – what program is interrupted
3. Since when does the interference manifest itself
4. The time in which the disturbance is manifested
5. How interference manifests itself (e.g.. growling sound, streaks in the image…)
6. How income is handled (e.g.. common antenna, individual
antenna…)
Then follow the instructions of the office staff.
