On August 12, 2008, stations OM3KII and OK2KQQ/p managed to establish the first optical connection between Slovakia and the Czech Republic. The operators on the Slovak side were Rado OM2ZZ and Robo OM1LD, on the Czech side Boris OK2QW and Jirka OK2SS.
The connection was established using red light, which corresponds to a frequency of 461THz. The distance covered was 18 km. After this connection, we also tested the connection to Vienna - 120 km, but without success.
