First OM / OK optical connection

Dna 12. augusta 2008 OM3Kii and OK2KQQ / p stations managed to establish the first optical connection between Slovakia and the Czech Republic. The operators on the Slovak side were Rado OM2ZZ and Robo OM1LD, on the Czech side Boris OK2QW and Jirka OK2SS. The connection was made using a red light, to which the frequency 461THz corresponds. The bridged distance was 18km. After this connection, we also tested the connection to Vienna – 120km but without success.
