The open-source logging program QLog by Ladislav Foldyn OK1MLG has undergone significant development since version 0.51.0. Versions 0.52.0, 0.53.0 and the current 0.54.0 bring changes across the entire program - from the online map to log management and QSL tlač až po anténnu automatiku a prípravu na Hamlib 5.0. Tento prehľad zachytáva podstatné novinky zo všetkých troch vydaní.

Online map and antenna routing
The map in QLog has undergone the biggest change in its history since v0.52.0. The new HeardMe spot function shows directly on the map the stations that you have picked up on PSKReporter and the Reverse beacon Network. the operator can thus see in real time where his signal has reached, without switching to an external browser. As of v0.53.0, the map uses primarily vector tiles with automatic transition to raster if vectors are not available, and the localization of map elements into the selected language has been added.
Practically the most interesting innovation is the interactive control of the antenna direction directly from the map. The Target Antenna context menu allows you to click on a location on the map and direct the Rotator to the corresponding Azimuth. In combination with the new assignment of the rotator to the antenna profile (Assigned Rotator) and with the permanent storage of the position and zoom in the rotator widget, a complete system is created where the map is used not only for display, but also for controlling the station.
Log filtering and filter profiles
Since v0.53.0, the station log management has gained the ability to clone filters (Clone Profile). The operator can prepare a basic filter and create a copy of it with one click, which he can adapt for another purpose - for example, for another band, mode or period. The same cloning mechanism works for Alert Rules and Activities. A new widget for changing the filter parameters (Change Filter Parameters) allows you to switch between time periods directly from the main window. Predefined periods include "today" and "last week", making it easy to get a quick overview of current traffic. The filter from v0.54.0 correctly searches for countries even in localized names.
QSL printing and dispatch management
QSL printing has undergone changes in both versions. In v0.52.0, the possibility of defining your own paper dimensions was added, which you will appreciate for non-standard QSL cards or labels. QSL sending status can now be marked directly from the context menu of the QSO record without opening the editing window - change by contributor mc-doge666. Version 0.54.0 expanded the printing system with QSL queuing, QSL manager support and DXCC display in the print form.
Diploma programs and competitions
In the area of diplomas, Canada Award, WANA and RAC (v0.53.0), WAJA and Polish PGA (v0.54.0) have been gradually added since v0.52.0. The link between the WAAC diploma and the diary has been fixed. For contest operation, the new Flexible Exchange Linking (v0.52.0) feature is essential, which allows flexible exchange codes to be linked during contests - the operator can define which fields in the diary correspond to a specific contest exchange code. Cabrillo export was corrected in v0.54.0 with LOCATION header and correct processing of VHF frequencies.
Antenna profiles, Hamlib and services
Automatic antenna selection by broadcast band is a long-requested feature that arrived in v0.52.0. QLog automatically switches the antenna profile when changing bands, which is practical for multi-band stations with different antennas. Each profile can have a rotator assigned to it, and the Activity defines which rotator takes precedence.
QLog is being prepared for Hamlib 5.0 in v0.53.0 - modifications in the driver ensure compatibility with the upcoming version of the library. The rigctld setting displays the parameters that QLog has set and the default capabilities are automatically pre-populated when a new transceiver is defined. Among the new services, QSLInfo.de stands out as a source for automatic search of QSL managers - the information about the manager is displayed directly in the contact window.
Verzia 0.54.0 pridáva MCP Bridge – most medzi QLog a nadstavbou QLog-MCP, which makes transceiver, rotator, antenna, station and activity data available. Supports multiple instances WSJT-X a zavádza natívne systémové notifikácie pre upozornenia. Nový release nájdete na https://github.com/foldynl/QLog
