QO-100 Dx Club Sprint Contest 2025

QO-100 The Dx Club Sprint Contest is held every other Saturday. The goal: the competition supports the establishment of connections via the NB transponder QO-100.

General rules

– Operators must follow the QO-100 bandplan and operating instructions
– Only one signal is allowed at a time
– With FT4, only one stream is allowed (F/H and similar modes are not allowed)

Terms

QO-100 setup: left RTL2832 with HDSDR notebook, right TM-255 with power source

The competition takes place on Saturday from 15:00 do 15:59 UTC in these months and modes:

  • January, May, september: SSB
  • February, June, October: CW
  • March, July, november: RTTY
  • April, august, december: Zimbabwe flag

Frequencies

Competitions are held in the "mixed modes" segment & special purposes“ (.870 – .990)

  • Determination of the plant: .870 – .990
  • RTTY: .870 – .900
  • Zimbabwe flag: .870 – .875

Category

Single Operator: All functions are performed by one operator.

Score

Body za QSO:

  • 1 points for QSOs.
  • 10 points for QSO with QO-100 Dx Club membership.
  • The same station can only be contacted once per sprint.
  • Multipliers: Number of unique squares (grid square) a DXCC entity.
  • The resulting score: Body za QSO × (squares + entity).

Code exchanged

SSB/CW/RTTY: Report, locator (XXYY) and membership number (if you are a member).
Zimbabwe flag: Report and locator (XXYY).

Diaries

Logs in ADIF format must be sent via the form by Monday 23:59 UTC after the end of the sprint.

ADIF file requirements:

It must contain fields like QSO_DATE, TIME_ON, CALL, MODE, GRIDSQUARE, SAT_NAME ("QO-100"), PROP_MODE („SAT“) etc..

QO-100 Dx Club checks logs and determines scores.
Violation of the rules or unsportsmanlike conduct leads to disqualification.

Examples of unsportsmanlike conduct:

  • Negotiating connections outside of amateur radio facilities.
  • Broadcasting outside the permitted frequencies.
  • Incorrectly labeled connections or excessive signal width.

Results

Results will be posted on the QO-100 Dx Club site on the Friday after each sprint.

Awards

At the end of the year, prizes will be awarded for the top 10 score and top 5 for each mode.
