SP DX CONTEST 2023
ORGANIZERS
PZK – Polish Radio Amateur Union (Polish Amateur Radio Union ) in cooperation with the SP DX club.
The goal of the CQ World Wide 160-Meter Contest for radio amateurs from all over the world is to establish as many connections as possible with as many American radio amateurs as possible.
For radio amateurs worldwide, to contact as many Polish stations as possible in as many provinces of Poland as possible. Polish stations use these prefixes: 3WITH, HF, A 109D, SO, SP, SQ and establish contacts with the rest of the world (except Poland) in as many DXCC countries as possible.

THE DATE
First full weekend in April from 15:00 UTC (1. April 2023) on Saturday until 14:59 UTC (2. April 2023) on Sundays.
BANDS
160, 80, 40, 20, 15 and 10m according to the IARU Band plan.
FASHIONS
PHONE a CW. Contacts on PHONE and CW with the same station in the MIXED category are counted as separate contacts.

CALLING THE CHALLENGE
Polish stations : “CQ CONTESTS” on PHONE or “CQ TEST” that CW.
Foreign stations “CQ SP”.
REPORT
Polish stations broadcast a report consisting of a signal report (RS or RST) plus the letter of the province designation (e.g.. 59 B ). 16 provinces are marked as follows: B, C, D, F, G, J, K, L, M, O, P, R, S, U, W a Z .
Foreign stations send a report consisting of a signal report (RS or RST) plus connection numbers starting from 001 (e.g.. 59 001 ).
BODY
For Polish stations : QSO with a DX station (outside Europe) is 3 body, A QSO with a station in Europe is 1 that. Contacts between Polish stations are not counted.
For foreign stations : 3 points for every contact with a Polish station.
MULTIPLIER
For Polish stations : Current DXCC countries (except SP) on every band, regardless of the mode used.
For foreign stations : Polish provinces on each band, regardless of the mode used, maximum, however 96 (16 provinces x 6 band).
SCORING
Total points for QSOs on all bands multiplied by the sum of the multipliers on all bands.

Definition of categories and used abbreviations:
MO: One transmitter with multiple operators means, that only one signal can be transmitted at a given time.
SO: One operator means, that all competitive activities including operating the radio station, recording of connections and recording of results is performed by only one person. In addition, only one signal can be transmitted at a time.
SOTB: One operator Three bands – SO on three arbitrarily selected bands.
HP: High Power - The maximum output power permitted by the amateur radio license (license class).
LP: Low performance – The maximum output power is 100 watts.
QRP: The maximum output power is 5 watts.
AWAY: All bands.
SB: One band.
MIXED: Mixed fashions (CW aj SSB) .
CHECKLOG: The diary will only be used for review and will not be graded

GENERAL RULES
Each participant must declare only one of the above categories. Any other QSOs, including multipliers, should be kept in the diary for cross checking.
Participants in all categories can use help in finding QSOs. Self-advertising is not allowed (self-spotting).
All transmitters, receivers and antennas of the stations must be located in a circle with a diameter 500 meters. No change of venue is allowed during the competition.
The call sign and report must be correctly transmitted and received by both stations, for counting points in the result.
Connections with stations, which do not send the competition diary will be counted as confirmed, only when, if their valid marks will be in at least four (4) other competition journals.
SHORTWAVE LISTENER (SWL)
Polish SWLs must record the call sign, signal report and competition code sent by a foreign station, as well as the call sign of the Polish station. Foreign SWLs must record the call sign and competition code sent by the Polish station, as well as the call sign of the foreign station. Body, multipliers and scoring is the same as other stations. Both Polish and foreign stations can be recorded in the logbook only once on each band and mode, except for the case, that one of the stations is a new multiplier.

COMPETITION DIALS
Electronic contest logs must be sent in Cabrillo format only through the website spdxcontest.pzk.org.pl . Competitive
logs sent by email will not be accepted! All logs must be submitted by the latest 2 weeks after the competition (16. April 2023).
COMPETITION RESULTS
Preliminary results will be available on the SP DX Contest website spdxcontest.pzk.org.pl 30. April 2023. Any discrepancies and requests for clarification can be sent to Committee@spdxcontest.pzk.org.pl until May 7. 2023. Official results will be published on the SP DX Contest page by 14. may 2023.
PRICES
Each participant will be able to download a printable electronic certificate. The best stations in every category, country and continent can receive plaques sponsored by individuals and groups. It is also expected, that special prizes determined by their sponsors will be awarded.

DISQUALIFICATION
Violation of amateur radio regulations in the competitor's country or violation of competition rules or unsportsmanlike conduct will be considered sufficient grounds for disqualification.
EXCLUSIONS
Due to current events, the organizers have decided to exclude stations from Russia and Belarus from participating in the SP DX Contest 2023. QSOs of SP stations with the above countries will not be scored and will not count as multipliers either.
DISPUTES
The decisions of the competition committee are final.
