Letný QRP The race is one of the long-term organized VHF competitions focused on low-power operation. The announcer is the Czechoslovak Amateur Broadcasters (ČAV) and the competition is open to radio amateurs from all countries. The rules distinguish two basic competition categories. They are simple and correspond to the way the station is operated throughout the competition.

Description
SO (Single Operator)
The station is operated by a single operator throughout the competition without any outside assistance.
MO (Multi Operator)
All other multi-member stations.
In the Single Operator category, the rules define precisely what is considered assistance during the competition. For example, operating the transmitting or receiving equipment by another person, rotating antennas, keeping a logbook or recording stations already worked on are considered inadmissible. The aim is to ensure equal conditions for all individuals. On the other hand, the Multi Operator category allows for the cooperation of several operators. This category is particularly popular among club stations or groups of radio amateurs who want to complete the competition together.
Types of operation

Although the rules allow both CW and voice, experience from previous years shows that both operations have their own specifics. CW provides higher resistance to weak signals at a power of up to 10 W and allows for connections over longer distances. On the other hand, voice operation is attractive to a wider range of participants and, under favorable conditions, allows for a very dynamic course of the competition. In the 144 MHz band, the choice of location also plays an important role. Mountainous locations or open elevated places with a good radio horizon are usually advantageous. Since the maximum permitted power is only 10 W, the result often depends more on the quality of the antenna system, low losses in the feeder and operator experience than on the transmitter itself.
The philosophy of the Summer QRP Contest is to use low power efficiently. Quality antennas, a suitable location, and operator experience are the key factors, not the high power of the transmitter.

Additional terms and conditions
Organizátori kladú veľký dôraz na zachovanie rovnakých podmienok pre všetkých účastníkov. Stanovište môže byť umiestnené na ľubovoľnom mieste, avšak všetko vybavenie stanice musí byť počas celej súťaže sústredené na ploche s maximálnym priemerom 500 metrov. Po začiatku súťaže nie je dovolené meniť QTH or relocate the workplace. The entire station must operate from one physical workplace and all connections must be made through equipment located directly at the competition site. The only exceptions are data transfers necessary to connect to the network Packet Radio, ktoré sa za súťažné vysielanie nepovažujú. Pravidlá zároveň umožňujú, aby z jedného stanovišťa pracovalo viac súťažných staníc, pokiaľ sa medzi sebou dohodnú a navzájom sa nerušia. Maximálny výkon koncového stupňa vysielača alebo súčet výkonov všetkých koncových stupňov však nesmie prekročiť 10 W. Práve tento limit je základnou myšlienkou QRP závodu a vytvára rovnaké podmienky pre všetkých účastníkov bez ohľadu na použitý transceiver. Do súťaže sa nezapočítavajú spojenia uskutočnené prostredníctvom EME, cez pozemné alebo družicové prevádzače ani cross-band spojenia. S každou stanicou možno na pásme započítať iba jedno platné spojenie. Opakované spojenia musia zostať zapísané v denníku ako Dupe alebo RPT s nulovou bodovou hodnotou. Rovnako sa nebodujú spojenia so stanicami, ktoré počas súťaže menia svoje stanovište, napríklad rover stanice označené príponou /R. Zaujímavosťou je, že organizátori neobmedzujú používanie DX Clustera, internetového chatu ani mobilných telefónov. Súťaž preto nestavia účastníkov pred rozhodnutie, či môžu využívať moderné informačné prostriedky. Rozhodujúce zostávajú iba parametre vlastnej rádiovej prevádzky a dodržanie výkonového limitu.
Even though modern information means are allowed, success in the Summer QRP Contest still depends primarily on a quality antenna, a suitable location, well-prepared equipment, and the operator's experience.
Competition code
Súťažný kód je jednoduchý a vychádza zo štandardov používaných vo VKV súťažiach IARU Region 1. Každý účastník odovzdáva report RS alebo RST podľa použitého druhu prevádzky, poradové číslo spojenia a svoj WW lokátor. The sequence number must start with 001 and increase gradually with each subsequent connection. The use of the number 000 is not permitted and such a connection will be marked as invalid during evaluation. The same complete competition code is also submitted by non-competition stations, although they do not have to send their logs to the organizer.

It is extremely important to submit the entire competition code correctly. Any error in the tag, report, sequence number or locator may lead to the connection not being recognized when checking the logs. Therefore, it is recommended to pay increased attention to the accurate reception and confirmation of all data during the connection itself.
Scoring
Systém bodovania Letného QRP závodu je založený na prekonanej vzdialenosti medzi oboma stanicami. Za každý kilometer sa prideľuje jeden bod, pričom výsledná bodová hodnota spojenia sa zapisuje ako celé číslo. Aj spojenie medzi stanicami nachádzajúcimi sa v rovnakom WW lokátore má hodnotu jedného bodu, takže každé platné spojenie prispieva do konečného výsledku. Pri výpočte vzdialeností sa používa odporúčaný koeficient 111,2 km na jeden stupeň zemepisnej šírky podľa odporúčaní IARU Region 1 a geografické súradnice vychádzajú zo systému WGS-84. Do bodového zisku sa započítavajú aj spojenia s nesúťažnými stanicami za predpokladu, že odovzdali kompletný Competition code vrátane poradového čísla spojenia. Organizátori tak motivujú k čo najširšej účasti aj rádioamatérov, ktorí sa nechcú zapojiť do oficiálneho hodnotenia, ale chcú podporiť aktivitu v pásme.

When checking the logs, the organizers compare the data provided by both participants in the connection. Any connection that contains an error in the call sign, received report, sequence number or WW locator becomes invalid. Similarly, a connection will not be recognized if the difference between the times provided in both logs exceeds 10 minutes UTC. Therefore, it is advisable to pay increased attention to the correct recording of all data during the competition.
At power levels up to 10 W, each correctly recorded connection can represent hundreds of points. Therefore, the accuracy of the logbook is as important as the quality of the antenna system.

Submitting a log
Po skončení súťaže je potrebné zaslať súťažný denník najneskôr do siedmich dní od ukončenia závodu na qrp [zavináč] seznam.cz. Organizátori uprednostňujú elektronický denník vo formáte EDI (REG1TEST), ktorý predstavuje štandard používaný vo VKV súťažiach IARU Region 1. Denníky v inom elektronickom formáte nebudú akceptované a stanica nebude zaradená do vyhodnotenia. Ak účastník nepoužíva elektronický denník, môže zaslať čitateľnú fotokópiu alebo naskenovaný Paper diary s vyznačenými bodmi za jednotlivé spojenia.
