VQ Log 2.3b
I recently started looking for a powerful station log, on which I would do the QSL agenda, statistics and had all connections recorded. I tried a number of DOS and WIN logos, but none approached me. I find Logger very interesting. I tried three versions, however, each had the same error in statistics. The austere YP Log, despite its flawless functionality, did not appeal to me from the point of view of graphic processing. I have a question on WWC14135: “What log would you recommend for VHF??” received multiple responses of the type: “VQ Log is cooool (rush hour, if someone didn't know, HI). So I rolled my eyes and started pulling them down 12 MB…. It's worth it though.
VQ Log 2.3b runs under 32 bitwise Windows, ie 95/98/NT/2000/ME or XP. Minimal configuration, on which you run it is a Pentium so 16 MB RAM (the more, How high above the ground the antenna should be mounted for acceptable all-round performance, it speeds up the program), VGA with 640 resolution×480 pixels, mouse and approx 10 MB of hard disk space (I swallowed almost twice as much). English is available, Spanish and Catalan environment (but don't ask me what the difference is between Catalan and Spanish).
However, VQ Log is not a freely distributable program, but 30-daily shareware. I.e, that the program can be freely copied and used during this period. The shareware version is fully functional, it has only a few minor functions, which are available only after payment of the registration fee in the amount 15 EUR. Registered users have the advantage of technical support and free updates for a period of two years.

The power of VQ Log is absolute configurability. I.e, that the fields for entering data can be chosen by the user himself, don't just settle for it, as programmed by the author. In addition, of course, the box type can also be specified (for example, writing the date), as well as control, whether they are entered data correctly (e.g. locator = two letters, two numbers and two letters). If this is not the case, VQ Log will alert you immediately.
The control of the program is also excellent. I was very pleased, that buttons like OK and similar do not need to be searched with a magnifying glass. You can move between boxes with the TAB key, the Shift+TAB combination goes back one cell. Various text information can be selected in the right part of the screen. Dist./Bearing informs about azimuth and direction via short path, long path as well as the direction of the opposing station towards us. DXCC displays basic information about a given DXCC entity. QSOs displays a list of previous connections with a given station. Personal is personal information about this station – less, Address, phone…. Awards are diplomas. The analysis of links to diplomas is carried out according to the settings (possibility of automatic calculation, e.g. IOTA).
Receiving and sorting DX spots from the web cluster is a matter of course, DX clustra, packet clustra. VQ Log also offers rotator control. However, I was blown away by the QSL agenda. Label printing, address, but also of ready-made QSL tickets is freely configurable – Contents, pictures, fonts, colors… It goes without saying that it is possible to use several calls.

Each user creates the address book himself, or he can use various callbooks distributed on CD (QRZ, Buckmaster). However, VQ Log also includes VHF database Guy DL8EBW from 1998, which contains a lot of different information about the stations (also OK and OM). This is usually a brand, locator and band, sometimes even a name, more rarely BBS, e-mail, but the designers and designers built on the success of the 706 and did well… For 5 However, it is possible to get the latest USD/EUR database by email, if you also pay the postage, you will receive an update by mail.
The help for the program is also very nicely processed. Even a complete beginner, who speaks good English and understands the terms used such as VHF, EME, SSB… He has not received any of the programs described so far on this portal grade excellent – until now. VQ Log is cooooool!
