Evaluation of the SNP race 2004

She took part in this race 42 stations, 25 from Slovakia and 17 from Bohemia and Moravia. Others 47 brands showed up in the logs with varying degrees of activity, from friends from the lower end to the stations of which at least 12 could be placed nicely, even win, if they used to send a journal from the race. It is a great shame when a person wastes his talent and effort like this. If for some serious reason you cannot send the diary on time, send it even a few days later, we will recognize any good excuse. HI. Thanks to OK1JFP for the review log. Participation in individual categories:

We didn't have many stations broadcasting from the QTH field this year either. It's a great shame, because this group most closely represents the conditions in which our soldiers and partisans fought during the uprisings. OM2RC only, OM6SA and OM8AQ formed the line of HI "brave adventurers".. The weather was rainy before and during the race and I was very lucky under Rozsutc, when it rained all Saturday and Sunday and lasted only for about two hours when I managed to stretch the antenna in a log cabin. The bear did not come to visit this year, but the mice had an obstacle course between screwdrivers and other tools in the log cabin on the table. When I shined a light on them at night, they didn't mind at all and continued to snore.

Since in 2004 it is round 60. anniversary of the SNP, we decided to award the SNP Trophy 2004 to all winners of individual categories, regardless of the number of participants.

Regarding the age of the competitors, we missed our old acquaintance Gejza Illes, OM8CA, but in age 75 he was replaced by Miro Paulík, OM3EK. The youngest participant was 18-year-old Peter Badžgoň, OM6APB. As the nicest participant, Peter receives a special prize. All other participants will receive a Diploma of the SNP race 2004. We will send the diplomas together with the evaluation, SNP trophies 2004 a little later.

Just a small addition to my last year's comment and explanations. Connections are continuously numbered in both stages, i.e. that in the second stage we continue the numbering from the first stage, so we don't start over. There were also many duplicate multipliers, especially between zip codes. One zip code is sometimes used by several stations, and the nonsense you program into your "smart" computers will end up spewing nothing but nonsense- ly. These computer logs often do not show the necessary data, as an address, less, grade or category. However, they are full of useless data that push out the data that is important, when sent over a computer network. Please use the prescribed forms for writing diaries ! We don't have time to play detective. Thank you all for your comments on the race.

Some participants say, that the race is difficult, but very interesting, others say, that its demands on the radio amateur brain and operator skill deter many more timid from participating. But I am convinced, that there is enough ability in each of us to participate in this race, but you have to make a strong decision and start fighting in the ether and your skills hidden under a dried layer of comfort, monotony and disappointment in life will shine in full beauty. Just participating in this, it will give you confidence in the eyes of a difficult race, precision and a new appetite for adventure and success. If even this challenge of mine does not move you, so rather participate in light mechanical races, where electronic machines for you, after pressing the button "X" they will make a connection for you and after pressing the button "Y" they will report and possibly send a log. It's about whether you will even remember what race you did and where his soul was.

Along with the evaluation, we send sample diaries to all participants of the SNP race, front page as well as a sample of the written diary, so everyone can send a perfect diary that can be easily evaluated.

We cordially invite you all to the next SNP race, which will be on August 21 2005, whether you leave the house, or bravely somewhere from a mountain or field habitat with the help of their grandchildren, young ladybugs or larger or smaller forest animals. HI. Also look for signals from Slovaks and Czechs who will broadcast from abroad. Šaňo OM3TY designed and built a small portable QRP transceiver that is ideally suited for this race and named it SNPáčik. We wish you the best of luck, endurance and success in the race.
