Software development team WSJT-X pod vedením Joea Taylora, K1JT, oficiálne zverejnil novú verziu s označením 3.0.0. Ide o verziu General Availability (GA), ktorá nadväzuje na predchádzajúce testovacie zostavy a prináša zásadné vylepšenia v oblasti efektivity dekódovania, používateľského rozhrania a predovšetkým úplne nové možnosti pre DX expeditions a prácu cez mesiac (EME).
The biggest news of version 3.0.0 is the integration of SuperFox mode and Q65 activities pileup. Tieto funkcie predstavujú ďalší technologický posun v digitálnej komunikácii, pričom reagujú na potreby moderných rádioamatérskych expedícií.

SuperFox: A revolution in dispatch operations
The SuperFox mode replaces the current Fox & Hound mode of operation. Unlike the older system, SuperFox uses a new constant envelope waveform for "Fox" broadcasts. This makes it possible to send messages simultaneously to up to nine "Hound" stations without a drop in signal strength for individual recipients.
Compared to the original five-slot Fox & Hound mode, SuperFox delivers a system gain of approximately +10dB. For hunters of DX expeditions, this means a significantly higher chance of successfully establishing a connection even with weaker signals.
Performance boost and new decoding features

Pre bežných používateľov módu FT8 version 3.0.0 brings the possibility of parallel processing within multiple processor threads (concurrent threads). This change manifests itself in a significantly higher decoding speed and overall improvement of the program's performance, which will be appreciated especially by operators on crowded bands.
Other significant improvements in user interface and operation include:
-
Tlačidlá pásiem na jedno kliknutie: New feature that can be activated in the View menu, which speeds up switching between working frequencies.
-
Filtre správ: Optional filters allow you to suppress the display of selected categories of decoded messages, thus increasing the clarity of the window.
-
Logika Wait and Reply/Call/Pounce: New operational options for smarter call response.
-
Zvukové upozornenia: The program can play a sound signal when receiving a message with specified content.
-
Ochrana koncového stupňa: WSJT-X teraz dokáže zobrazovať vysielaný výkon a hodnotu PSV (SWR) directly in the status line (for radios supporting Hamlib or FLRig). Added the function of automatically stopping the broadcast if the PSV exceeds the value of 2.5.
Support for modern hardware and visualization
Version 3.0.0 fully supports High Resolution Monitors with improved scaling of fonts and controls. In the color settings (File | Settings | Colors), the option to highlight directional calls such as DX, SOTA, POTA či YOTA oranžovou alebo modrou farbou, čo uľahčuje rýchlu orientáciu v prevádzke.
Pre priaznivcov prevádzky MSK144 the readability of the right panel has been improved, where "73" messages addressed directly to the user are now also displayed, with an inserted blank line between decodes from different TR periods.
News for EME and special applications
Also included in the Windows installation package is MAP65 version 3.0.0, designed for broadband tracking with polarization adaptation. For work through the month (EME) were added:
-
Moon ephemeris charts: Graphs of the ephemerides of the month directly in the Help menu.
-
Echo mód: It allows you to send your own tag towards the moon and then decode its echo.
-
Vylepšený mód Q65: Faster access to six popular sub-modes and easier setting of frequency offset between receiver and transmitter.
-
QMAP: A new program for watching spots on the CQLive and PSKReporter websites with improved processing of complex call signs.
Installation and update
Upgrading to version 3.0.0 from previous versions is straightforward and does not require uninstalling older files. The developers recommend to reset the list of default frequencies after installation (File | Settings | Frequencies -> right-click on the list and select Reset) to ensure compatibility with the new segments for SuperFox and Q65.
Software is available for Windows (32 and 64-bit), Linux (Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, Raspberry Pi OS) and macOS platforms. The source code is distributed under license GNU GPL v3. Používateľom sa odporúča dôkladne si preštudovať aktualizovaný User Guide, ktorý obsahuje detailné inštrukcie k novým režimom prevádzky.
