These propositions are valid from January 1, 2009 for Zimný QRP plant.
Winter QRP race at VHF is always held on the Sunday of the first full weekend in February. Competitors from all countries can participate.

Competitive bands:
- 144 MHz: 09:00–11:00 UTC
- 432 MHz: 11:00-13:00 UTC
Types of operation: CW and phone according to permits, while it is necessary to follow the recommendations of the I region IARU for various types of operation in frequency sections of amateur radio bands.
Additional conditions:
- QTH any, there may be an electric current on the hill.
- All station equipment must be located on an area with a maximum diameter of 500 m. The station may not be changed during the race.
- The use of a remote receiver or transmitter is not allowed.
- Each station can only have one signal at a time; the signals needed to connect to the packet radio are not counted.
- Several stations can broadcast from one station according to the agreement.
- The power of the final stage or the sum of the powers can be max. 10 W.
- Powering all devices (TX/RX, rotator, bug, PC...) only from chemical sources; recharging during the race only from solar cells, Peltier cells or human-powered mechanical sources.
- The antennas can be erected no earlier than the Friday before the race.
- Connections EME, cross-band and via ground or space transmitters are not counted in the race.
- Only one connection with the station where the complete competition code has been submitted and confirmed is valid on each band; mark repeated connections in the diary (RPT, DUPE) with a point value of 0.
- Používanie DX Clusteru, chatu, mobilu a pod. nie je obmedzené.

Contest code: consists of RS or RST, sequence number of the connection and WW-locator. The sequence number on each band begins with 001. The full code is also sent by non-competing stations; 000 is not a valid number and will be evaluated as invalid. Non-competing stations do not have to send a log.
Scoring: One point for every kilometer of distance between stations. Connections in the same WW-locator = 1 point. To calculate the distance, use the coefficient 111.2 (IARU region I) and the WGS-84 system for QTH coordinates. Connections with non-competition stations that sell the complete competition code are also valid.
Evaluation: Each band separately and the sum of points from both bands. The first three stations in the band and overall will receive a diploma.

Paper diary: legible photocopy or scanned file with bullet points. Send no later than 10 days after the end of the race.
Invalid connection:
- Error in received code (brand, report, serial number or locator)
- Connection time difference > 10 minutes from UTC
The station will not be evaluated:
- For non-compliance with the competition/allowed conditions
- For more than 10% of incorrectly calculated distances
- For false or erroneous data in the diary
- For unsportsmanlike conduct
Notes:
Ide o novinku – zimný VKV závod s predpokladom pobytu vonku. Pokusné, neodskúšané propozície. Autor dúfa, že hamovia prekročia zimný spánok a vyrazia na čerstvý vzduch. Súčasne prebieha DL Winter BBT contest. Aj tí, ktorí nemôžu splniť všetky podmienky (napr. stavba antény), sa môžu zúčastniť s primeraným výkonom a poslať denník pre kontrolu.
