6/2m expedition – May 2004

ZD8 – Ascension: Ian G8WVW and his family will be on Ascension Island until March 2006. On the assigned mark ZD8I can broadcast from 80 po 6m (except 30m). In May, he expects a shipment with the IC-2KL final stage and OB9-5E antennas on KV and 6 element Tonna antenna on 6m. Look after him at 3737, 7077, 14237, 18137, 21337, 24937 a 28537 kHz. EM1HO – Antarctica: Paul UX2HO will QRV again as EM1HO from Vernadsky Antarctic Base on Galindez Island (AN-006). The anticipated length of stay is one year. It will be broadcast on all bands from 160 after 6 m by all modes. PA will be available on 6m and 3-4 elemental yagi. QSL via I2PJA, directly and through the bureau.
F0/M – Marquis: Hiro and Ari will be active from the island of Hiva Oa from April 28th to May 2nd (OC-027) ako F0/JI1JKW a F0/JI1WTF. The plan includes all bands from 160 po 6m, on which they will have a beacon running on the frequency 50110 kHz. RTTY and SSTV from October 17 to November 1, directly and through the bureau.

HB0 – Lichtenstein: Gerry IZ1DSH, Giovanni IK1WEG and Riccardo IW1FWI will be 1. and May 2 to work from Gaflei in bands 80 – 6m probably on HB0/own brands. RTTY and SSTV from October 17 to November 1.

6M Marathon: is an open competition for all 6m operators. Their task is to establish connections with as many DXCC entities as possible on 6m in the period from May 8 (00.00OUT) until August 8 (24.00OUT). KP13: team OH8K (OH9O) is planning a short visit to square KP13 in May. QRV will be FSK on frequency 144,355 MHz, HSCW on request. MHz from Slovenia under the S53ATT mark: 144MHz – 2x16ele a 50MHz – 5he, 2x IC-7400, 2x IBM 600MHz laptopy, 3cx800a7 is wanted for PA on 2m, 0,35dB NF preamplifier and 4.8kW diesel generator. FOR – Albania: after long preparations, the most desirable country will finally appear on VKV, Albania. Juergen ZA/PE1LWT and Chris ZA/PA2CHR will be working from square JN91 near Durres from May 22nd to June 4th. They will definitely be on 2m SSB, CW, FSK and JT65 with portable equipment consisting of two twin yagi antennas and two PAs with a power of around 1kW. that a suitable antenna would be needed for a stable connection, the activity is not limited to only 2m, but also 6m and 70cm. On MS and EME operation, they always broadcast in the first period. Schedules can only be agreed after arrival at QTH. Difficulties are associated with it, that there is no GPRS coverage in Albania. We are still looking for sponsors for gasoline for the car and generator, special QSL, pactor-controller and other expenses connected with the expedition.
